PHAEDRA (The Sexy Chef)
has worked as an actress professionally for the last 10 years, receiving her training prior to that
on a theatre scholarship in college. Her debut as Sierra, the lead female role in a pilot TV show
called Dr. Wilderness, was critically acclaimed.
Attending the 50th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival in France refocused her
commitment to acting and inspired her to pursue a career in film. The Sexy Chef was her first feature film.
As for her thoughts on both the movie and her role, she had this to say, "My first film! It's a rush.
To have a project where I can play the title role is a dream come true! I love film; it is my passion.
To me, there is no better medium to express all the nuances of humanity. It is the ultimate form of
storytelling, entertainment, and expression. Independent film is changing the direction of the industry
in exciting ways with new blood, new stories and new talent. The Sexy Chef is a love story with an edge."
Since filming The Sexy Chef, Phaedra has gone on to star in three other film projects. Watch for her in
The Last One Out (2002), Nobody American (due out in early 2004) and in a love scene with Benjamin Bratt
in Thumbsucker (due out in early 2004). She continues to pursue her career in film and will be attending
the NY International Film Festival in 2004 to promote Nobody American, in which she played the lead role
of Akilah.
She owes her success to the opportunity she had in playing the title role of The Sexy Chef.
While that role was a small part, it was the catalyst that inspired her to keep pursuing her dreams.
The creed by which she lives her life is, "Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% what I make of it, so
savor every happy moment, never give up, and LIVE your dreams
