We've been busy catching up from our hectic DVD release weekend, so it's taken us a bit longer to update the website, but here we go. I'll start off by saying our weekend at the Hollywood went over great, with well over 300 people attending, a positive response and a lot of DVDs and tee shirts sold. The movie poster was also hugely popular, so we're making them available online at our store.

The week of the screening, we had some great web and print coverage with a solid review and a pick for the weekend (with a huge photo of our Sexy Chef, Phaedra) in Willamette Week, a solid review in the Oregonian's A&E, listings on Filmfever, Oregon Film & Video's site and others, but best of all was being #5 on the Oregonian's website's Top 5 movies to see that weekend. As much as all that helped though, I think it was truly word of mouth from all the Friends of The Sexy Chef spreading the gospel that made the weekend a big success.

All in all, we were very happy and though I've spent most of the last two weeks catching up on sleep and working my day job, I've been emailing thanks to people and contacting future venues. Currently, nothing is still definite but I'm trying and, as always, any help or suggestions is appreciated. I can say that Video Verite (3956 N. Mississippi) here in Portland, OR, is the first store to have The Sexy Chef for rental, but hot on the heels was Movie Madness (4320 SE Belmont) buying two DVDs and wanting us to get them some nice video tapes. These two stores have EXCELLENT taste and you should patronize them often. We're working on more now and I'll keep updating the site with new info.

Thanks again to Marc Mohan and the Oregonian, Dave Walker and The Willamette Week, Susan at Oregon Film and Video, Scott and the gang at FilmFever.org, Tom at OMPA (www.ompa.org), Richard and the gang at The Hollywood Theatre, Mike Prosser of Playground Films for One Night Hand, Mahyar and Ed Chen for Free Radicals, but most of all, all you Friends of The Sexy Chef.

Some quick notes to add. Less then two weeks after the DVD release, the Executive Chef at the stunning Aura (1022 W. Burnside) sent me an email interested in The Sexy Chef. I went by Friday February 13th and he made me some great food and bought a DVD, sight unseen. He was just so impressed with the coverage we'd gotten and couldn't wait to see a copy. That made my week and made me realize that we'd done a pretty good job.

Lastly, the current issue of Willamette Week (February 25th cover date) has a letter about our little ol' movie and Walker's review of said movie. I won't go into too much detail and I may send a letter in response or not, I haven't decided. Quickly, it is a letter from an unhappy viewer that thought Walker gave the movie a positive review so he could make money (a laughable thought) even though Walker freely admitted he'd helped out. Read the letter and Walker's intelligent response.

As always, remember, DVDs, tee shirts, CDs, buttons and posters are all still available at our store. Don't get left behind.

Thanks again for your help and support.
