Wow! We've been so busy sending out our movie for festivals and reviews and working on designs for a poster and the DVD and Video boxes,
that we've forgotten to let you know the good news. So far The Sexy Chef has shown at one film festival, Eye of the Beholder in Asheville,
N.C. and has just been accepted into its second festival, The 2002 Indianapolis Underground Film Festival.
In its second year, the IUFF is an offshoot of The Film Commune, a "collaborative group of young directors formed in 2001 ",
and received high praise for its first festival and local moviemaking scene. The festival runs December 6-8, 2002 at Key Cinemas
(4044 S. Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227). The Sexy Chef screens Saturday (12/7) at 3 PM. So, if you are nearby, go and
check it out. We may be there but are still uncertain. The timing is tough for me since I'll be in Houston, TX for Thanksgiving,
but Ian and Ty are still looking into trying to go. If so, we should head to Muncie, David Letterman's hometown, for the dedication
of the David Letterman Alley on Dec. 5th.
As for the Eye of the Beholder festival, our movie screened Sunday, October at 3 PM. Yes, 3 PM, again. I don't know what that means.
Two festivals we've been in, both in their second years, both showing at 3 PM and both we found out by checking their web sites, not
by any communication. I haven't heard back from EofB Festival to see how the screening and the festival went. Guess they've been busy. We can relate.
Ian, Ty and myself have all been putting a lot of time into research and submitting for festivals and places for reviews. I can't tell
you how many late nights I put in going through all of the research they've both done and putting in my two cents. It is a weird feeling
to send off a tape for consideration. Its sort of like lending out your infant child to see if complete strangers like him/her! It is
even weirder because, you don't hear back from a lot of people either.
Locally, Dave has been busying hooking us up with a good venue and date for a local screening. Still not locked down yet but we're most
likely going to show the movie with the short, LIFE OF DEATH, written and directed by Greg James (Mike Buda) with roles from Todd Robinson
(our Tank) and Noami Halsey (our Wynonna). This should happen early in 2003. Can't wait.
