Where has The Sexy Chef been?

Well, THE SEXY CHEF (TSC to her friends) has been on the run for quite some time but she has been keeping herself occupied.

Seriously, we have a great reason for being so busy, because we are ALREADY in post-production on our NEW movie, Monday Night Gig. You can check out updates and info at our sister site, www.mondaynightgig.com. I will say that we had a great cast and crew on MNG, we're very proud of this movie and believe it will be even better then TSC, but then you do want to keep improving, don't you? We got some great cameos from some TSC cast, too, and we're hoping to have a Portland premiere in March at Longbaugh (www.longbaugh.com). I'll keep you up to date.

As for TSC, we do have plenty of updates. We had a good showing at the Parkway Theater in Oakland (www.picturepubpizza.com) that, though it wasn't packed, had a good response. Big thanks to Landry, Eric, Jon at West Coast Pizza and Will the Thrill. When you are in Oakland you should check out both the Parkway Theater and West Coast Pizza.

We had a great write-up in the cool online mag, Anvil (www.anvil-media.com) in the June 2004 issue at www.anvil-media.com/archives/060104/reviews.htm. It is by local writer and filmmaker, Chris Parkhurst, and is about the Portland indie scene. We're named as one of the cool four Portland movies to pick up, right by MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO. Nice company to be with! Parkhurst is currently filming in Cambodia and Vietnam and has finished his movie THE CASCADES.

If you've never been to The Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com), you're missing out. It is a great source of information for movies, filmmakers and actors. TSC is not only listed (at www.imdb.com/title/tt0390472/) but we have two, favorable, unsolicited reviews posted. If you have time, it would be great to get some more votes on our User Rating or more reviews. I'd really like to get those ratings higher. The same goes for our Movie Tome listing, whichever one floats your boat (though IMDB does get more hits…..).

Recently, the Multnomah County Library (www.multcolib.org) purchased nine copies of TSC, so those should be available for rent in the next week or so. We have a great library system here that we use constantly so it is cool to see something we worked on in their system.

Personally, after MNG wrapped in September, I co-produced our own David Walker's dark comedy, DAMAGED GOODS and then was the location scout and manager for Jason Freeman's THE HEATER. Our Director of Photography, Todd Freeman, got me involved in that one and is a great filmmaker in his own right, having written and directed TWO-FISTED.

So, 2005 looks to be a great year for new projects and for TSC. If you haven't gotten your tee shirt, DVD or poster, head to the store now and if your theatre hasn't shown TSC or your local video/DVD rental store doesn't have TSC, DEMAND IT!

Thanks and Happy New Year,
